Lawrence F. Russ, 79, of 406 Wallace Ave., died Sunday at St. Anthony Hospital. He was a retired employee of Louisville & Nashville Railroad Co. Survivors include five daughters, Mary A. Barnett, Laverne Miller, Karen D. Russ, Betty Rohleder and Nancy Brown; two sons, Lawrence F. Jr. and Carl J. Russ; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 510 Breckenridge Lane, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation at Ratterman's, 3711 Lexington Road, will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or Mass of the Air.
