She received her teaching certificate from Central Michigan University. Mrs. Rosecrance was a teacher early in her professional career and then went on to work at the Ionia County National Bank for several years. After the bank she then worked at two State of Michigan correctional facilities in Ionia in the departments of payroll and personnel until her retirement.
Mrs. Rosecrance was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, Ionia,where she served as church organist for many years. She was an active member of this congregation until her move south where she became involved with the First United Methodist Churches of Morristown and Johnson City, Tennessee. She also volunteered at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Rosecrance was preceded in death by her husband, Dale J. Rosecrance, in2004; and two daughters, Ann Marie Rosecrance and Sally Jane Grohowski. Survivors include one son, Brian J. Rosecrance, and wife, Cathie of JohnsonCity, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Laura Sira of Midland, David J. Rosecrance,Knoxville, Tenn., Matthew Alan Rosecrance of Smyrna, Ga., and Brandy Rosecranceof Clinton, Tenn.; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 105 E. Main Street, Ionia, MI 48846. A memorial service celebrating Marie’s life will be held on November 19th at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Ionia.
