Dorothy was born in Lowell on March 21, 1934, a daughter of the late Bertram and Dorothy (Noyes) Roberts. She resided in N. Chelmsford for the past ten years and was formerly of Lowell where she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Prior to her retirement, Dorothy was employed as a dispatcher and taxi driver with several taxi companies in the Lowell area including Bill's Taxi which was owned and operated by her brother, Bill Roberts.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered much of her time with the Chelmsford Senior Center where she participated in many fundraisers and also helped run the bingo.
She was survived by her five children, Wayne Everett of Lowell, Deborah Stripling and her husband Michael of Derry, NH, Marcia Hoey of N. Chelmsford, Tammy Ellis of Saco, ME and Crystal Ellis of Lowell; her grandchildren, Danny and Donald Everett, Fred, Amy and Christopher Salmons, Wayne Thompson, Heather and Waylon (Thompson) Brown; a cousin, Barbara "Clem" Graham of Lowell; also many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Janice Ellis who passed away in 2006, sister of the late Willard "Bill" Roberts and Frederick Roberts and mother-in-law of late Michelle "Shelly" Everett.
Relatives and friends were invited to call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Tuesday, March 26, from 4 until 8pm. Her Funeral Service were on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at Calvary Baptist Church, 60 Hastings St., Lowell. Interment at Edson Cemetery.
