Joy Lee Riggs Buckner, 86, of Athens, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at her residence.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Addison and Minnie Lee Malone Riggs, and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Lester Buckner; one grandson, Stacey Buckner; five brothers, Woody, Robert, Sam, Ules and David Riggs; and two sisters, Angie Davis and Lucy Tudor. She was retired from Carver Manufacturing and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Jim Henegar of Athens; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Paula Buckner of Athens; one grandson, Steve Buckner; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Jack Scallions officiating.

There will be no formal visitation.
