DOUGLAS BUCKNER, age 76 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, in Life Care of Athens, Tenn.

He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, a son of the late Lester and Joy Lee Riggs Buckner and preceded in death by a son: Stacey Buckner.

He was a Graduate of McMinn County High School and was a delivery driver for United Parcel Service for 33 years. He was of the Baptist Faith and attended Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors include: His Wife of 33 years: Paula S. Buckner of Athens, TN; Son and Daughter-in-law: Steve and Hollie Buckner of Athens, TN; Grandson: Adam T. Buckner; Granddaughter: Amanda; Two Great Granddaughters; Sister and brother-in-law: Pat and Jim Henegar of Athens, Tenn; Sisters-in-law: Debbye and Larry Wade, Janice Ruggles, Becky and Steve Mullen; Two nephews and their families.

Funeral services will 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 2, 2020 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Scallion officiating.

Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in McMinn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 Monday in the funeral home.

In memory of Doug, contributions may be made to Pat Summitt Foundation.
