Funeral services for James Arthur Richardson, age 78 of Ashland, will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Christian Fellowship. Burial will follow in the Faith Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Richardson was a native of Clay County where he had lived for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked as a truck driver for Charles “Bugs” Jordan for 20 years. Mr. Richardson then worked for another eight years for A-G-L Incorporated. He was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thelma Richardson; two daughters: Debbie Anderson (Buck) of Ashland and Tracy Tapley (David) of Lineville; two sons: Jimmy Richardson (Denise) and Randy Richardson (Carolyn), both of Millerville; his mother, Mary Aline Richardson of Ashland; one sister, Carolyn Campbell (Henry) of Logan, AL; three brothers: Clarence Richardson (Levis) of Goodwater, Clyde Richardson (Tabitha) of High Pine and Carlton Richardson (Betty) of Cullman, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Aubrey Richardson; one son, David Richardson; one sister, Mary Lane; three brothers: Lee, Jimmy, and Billy Wayne Richardson.
