Helen B. Pratt of Ashton, Michigan, entered eternal life on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Laurels of Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She was 95 years old. She died the day before her 96th birthday.
Helen was born July 1, 1911 in Highland Township, Osceola County, to Leon and Sadie (Thompson) Huggins and attended Highland School No. 1.
She married Alonzo C. Pratt on April 21, 1930 in Grand Rapids. They lived in the Grand Rapids area until returning to Ashton in 1969.
Mrs. Pratt enjoyed fishing, canning, baking, riding snowmobiles and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 77 years, Alonzo; her five children, Maxine German of Lakeview and Florida; Eugene (Judy) Pratt of Carmel, Ind.; and Thelma Denhof, Susan (Ron) Wortley and Carl (Marilyn) Pratt, all of Grand Rapids. Mrs. Pratt is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael; one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at the McDowell Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Blunt officiating. Burial will be in Ashton Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, July 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
