Doris K. Hatt, 87, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at K & K Quality Care. She was born on Sept. 24, 1922, in Tustin, daughter of the late Charles and Sadie (Thompson) Bonham. She married Howard H. Hatt on July 8, 1939, in Dighton. He died on May 30, 1997.
During her life, Doris enjoyed gardening, camping, crocheting, needlework, bingo, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was an active member of Sanford Methodist Church until her health deteriorated. Doris is survived by one son, Gerald (Marie) Hatt; and one daughter, Linda (Bernie) Beyer all of Midland; one daughter-in-law, Ida (Harmon) Hatt of Flint; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grand-children; one sister, Verna Salisbury of Marion; one brother, Ernest Bonham of Cadillac; and by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was predeceased by one son, Jack; brothers, Bill Bonham, Leonard Bonham, John Bonham, Jay Huggins, and Carl Huggins; and two sisters, Helen Pratt, and Marie Chase.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010. The Rev. Mel Hunt will officiate, with burial at 3:30 p.m. in Highland Township #1 Cemetery in Osceola County.
