She lived her liftime in the Nappanee area and worked as a cashier at Bonacorsi's for 20 years and in bakery sales at Amish Acres for 15 years. Betty was an active member of the Nappanee Church of the Brethren, where she participated in Women's Fellowship. She bowled in the Thursday night Ladies' League for 20 years, where she served as league secretary. Betty was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving along with her husband are daughters Barbara S. Keiser of Nappanee, Patricia E. (Mel) Witt of Carmel and Julia A. Stouder of Nappanee; sons Tim L. (Connie) Stouder of Nappanee and Roger L. (Vicki) Stouder of Osceola; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Fetters of Nappanee. She was preceded in death by grandson John Slabaugh; son-in-law Ron Keiser; two sisters, Judy Lynch and Eleanor Ingle; and a brother, Bill Phend.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, at Nappanee Church of the Brethren. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. The Rev. Byrl Shaver will lead the service. Burial will be at Union Center Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Nappanee Church of the Brethren.
