Marilyn "Jo" Fetters, age 78, Nappanee, died Sunday, September 11, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital. She had been ill since July of this year.
She was born July 17, 1933, in Marshall County, to L. Guy Phend and Lola Zinn Phend. She was a lifetime area resident, and was a 1951 Graduate of Nappanee High School. She was a secretary for Supersweet, where she retired in 1990. Marilyn married Wendell W. Fetters on October 11, 1963. He preceded in death September 17, 1996. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and she enjoyed playing games on her computer.
Surviving Marilyn is a son, Butch (Elaine) Fetters, Wakarusa; two grandchildren, Chris Fetters, Goshen, Tammy (Dean) Nusbaum, Middlebury; 5 great-grandchildren, Michael and Tyler Bowen, Morgan, Lauren, and Maya Fetters; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are sisters, Judy Lynch, Eleanor Ingle, Betty Stouder, and brother, Bill Phend.
Friends and family may call Wednesday, September 14, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and an hour prior to the funeral service, which will be Thursday, at 1 pm, also at the funeral home. Pastor Ed Fritz, of the Life Center, Goshen, will lead the service. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
