PAUL, Merle Age 91 of Hamilton went home to be with her Lord at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Thursday November 24, 2005 at 10:20 A.M. She was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on October 2, 1914 the daughter of Silas and Lizzie Beth (Vance) Howard. Merle worked as a hairdresser and real estate broker for many years in Hamilton. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fairfield. On June 26, 1945 in Covington, Kentucky she married John E. Paul, who preceded her in death on June 26, 1988. She is survived by one son, Daniel G. Paul of Hamilton; Daniel's very special friend Margaret Fleming, and her three daughters of Dublin, Ohio; one brother, Ollie Gray Howard and his wife Jeanette of Hamilton; two sisters, Zuma Finn of Georgetown, Kentucky and Freda Meister of Hamilton; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat Sunshine. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, McLain, Hubert, Woodrow, Chad, Dennis and Blackburn; and one sister, Jewell Carpenter. Merle will be sadly missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and a very special little girl, Brooke Bryant. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Fairfield, 1072 Hicks Blvd, on Tuesday November 29, 2005 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tim White of First Baptist Church of Fairfield officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Fairfield, 1072 Hicks Blvd. Fairfield, Ohio 45014. Brown-Dawson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
