Heinrich was born in 1806 in Bissendorf, Hanover, Germany (near Osnabrueck),,,Osnabruck, Niedersachsen, Germany to JOHANN FRIEDRICH OTTE 1774 – 1851 and WILHELMINE CATHARINE C M IMMELMANN 1777 – . He was christened Oct. 26, 1806 in Ev. Lutheran Michaeliskirche, Bissendorf, Hanover, Germany probably in St. Michaelis Michael's Parish. He married first to Sophie Ilsa Marie Dorethea Balke and they had Sophie and Charlotta. Sophie died in 1837. He married second to Dorethea Louise Sophie Walken 1817 – 1845 in Bissendorf. They had Friedrich, and Johanna Doretha "Dora" twins and either a son Wilhelm or daughter Wilhelmina. Henry and his family immigrated to Texas. They sailed from Bremen, Germany on Sept 8, 1846 on the Brig Weser and arrived in Galveston, Galveston County, Texas Nov. 27, 1846. Dorethea and their child Wilhelm/Wilhelmina died in 1846 in New Braunfels, Comal Co, Texas where they were living in immigrant camp in a tent when diseases raged in camp.Both were buried there. Henry moved his family to Gillespie County, Texas. He married a widow JOHANNE ELESAE LOUISE* H WIESEMEYER Bahntge who had two children when she arrived in Galveston. She moved with her son to Gillespie County after her other child died. They married Aug. 27, 1853 in Fredericksburg, Gillespie County, Texas. They had five children: Johanna, Heinrich Edward Joachim, Marie, Heinrich Carl Theodore, and Wilhelm Otte. Henry died in 1870 and Louise died after the 1880 census. Both are buried on their farm in Cave Creek Settlement in a family grave.
