Of Elgin passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009. She was born in Lester, IA on February 24, 1908 the daughter of August and Caroline (Reber) Greiner. Lydia has been a resident of Elgin since 1924 and had worked at the Elgin National Watch Factory and Illinois Tool Works for many years prior to her retirement. Attended the Apostolic Christian Church in Elgin. Survivors include her two children, John Richard (Jan) Osmun III of Elgin and Mary Kay (Michael) Murphy of Dundee, IL; five grandchildren, Sean (Lisa) Murphy, Shannon (Tim) Mahoney, Carrie Osmun, Katie (Kris) Kleiss, and Steven (Liz) Osmun; four great-grandchildren, Shea, Jack, Chloe, and Connor; her brother, Robert (Eileen) Greiner along with numerous nieces, nephews, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, John Richard Osmun Jr., whom she married on October 3, 1931 and passed on September 21, 1977; her eight sisters, Mary Moser, Freida Eisenmann, Rose Eurich, Tillie Rudin, Anna Mae Joos, Elsie Greiner, Esther Batt, and Helen Joos; her brothers, John, Ben, Otto, Emil, and Howard Greiner. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Resthaven or Hospice of Northeastern, IL.
