Cordelia was a longtime area resident, was a member of Saint Teresa de Ávila Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary.
Cordelia is survived by her husband, Telesfor Baca of Grants, NM, sons, Eugene Baca of Little Port, England, Eddie Joe Baca of Albuquerque, NM, Bernie Baca, Michael Baca and Bobby Baca, all of Grants, NM, daughters, Consuelo Chávez of Albuquerque, NM and Viola Chávez of Grants, NM, brothers, Charlie Ortega of Teseque, NM and Joe Ines Ortega of Santa Fé, NM sisters, Consuelo Montoya, Rosina Ortega, Priscilla Vigil, Linda Gonzáles and Cecilia O. Aranda, all of Santa Fé, NM 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Cordelia was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorita R. Romero and Manuel T. Ortega, brothers, Benny Ortega, Daniel Ortega, Gene Ortega and Tino Ortega and sister, Henrietta Aguilar.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2003 at Grants Mortuary and 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at Saint Francis Cathedral, Santa Fé, NM. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2003 at St. Teresa de Ávila Catholic Church, Grants, NM and 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at Saint Francis Cathedral, Santa Fé, NM. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 1, 2003 at St. Teresa de Ávila Catholic Church, Grants, NM. Father Alberto Avella will officiate Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2003 at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM. Pallbearers will be B.J. Bobby Baca, Karl Toby Chávez, Jerry Chávez, John Baca, Brian Chávez and Christopher Chávez.
