Lydia Maxine Orme Holmes, 95, is having a joyous reunion with her husband, parents, sisters and brothers. She returned home Friday, December 16, 2016, of causes incident to age.

Maxine was born in Honeyville, Utah, to George and Azella Orme on July 5, 1921. Her birth was unique as she had an older brother and sister who shared her birthday of July 5. She attended school in Honeyville and subsequently graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City.

She married Ralph G. Holmes in the Logan LDS Temple November 21, 1939. They celebrated over 65 years of marriage before he passed in 2005.

Maxine had a beautiful alto singing voice and participated in many musical events throughout her life. She enjoyed playing softball as a pitcher on various ladies leagues and she also loved bowling. Maxine and Ralph enjoyed camping and fishing in the Uintah Mountains.

Maxine is survived by her five daughters: Sherlene Wood, Barbara Blackwood, (Lee) and Georgia Warren, (Rod) and Irene Genta, and Lorraine Martinez. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and a growing posterity of great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Maxine’s daughters extend special thanks and gratitude to Brenda and Ashley of Summit Home Health and Hospice. They were angels who attended lovingly to Maxine.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Lindquist’ Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Friends may pay their respects prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
