CURWENSVILLE - Edward Harley Norris, 73, of 627 Scofield St., Curwensville, died yesterday at 1:30 p.m. at the Clearfield Hospital.

A son of Ralph and Olive (Harley) Norris, he was born in Curwensville Feb. 25, 1897.

He was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church, Men's Bible Class of the Sunday School, a veteran of World War I, having served with the U. S. Army at the Mexican border and overseas for two years, a member of the Susqueshnna Barracks of Curwensville and the Curwensville American Legion where he was finance officer for 44 years.

Mr. Norris also belonged to the Rescue Hose and Ladder Company, the Curwensville loyal Order of Moose and Sons of Italy. He was retired mail carrier with 35 years of service. He also owned and operated Curwensville Sunoco station for 11 years.

Surviving are his wife, Marguerite (Rapp) Norris; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Helen) Passmore of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Abe (Bettie) Stauffer of Curwensville; one son, Jack Norris of Erie; six granddaughters; two great-grandsons; three brothers, Charles of Cleveland, Ohio, Richard and Robert both of Clearfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Kephart of Curwensville and Mrs. Sally Warfield of North Hampton, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Military funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Russell H. Lininger Funeral Home. The Rev. David E. Kemberling will officiate and interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday and until the time of service Saturday.
