Mrs. Chittum was owner of the Bill Chittum Garage at Sullivan and Yale Avenues, which was formerly operated by her husband. He died of a heart attack, April 11, 1944. For 17 years, Mr. Chittum was a professional auto race driver on major dirt tracks in America.
Surviving are two sons, William Howard and Herbert Allen Chittum; her mother, Mrs. Minnie Vance; three sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Plank, Mrs. Irma Redifer, and Mrs. Dorothy Landis and three brothers, Vernie, Willard and Dale Vance.
Friends may call at the Wylie S. Shroyer funeral home, 1278 W. Broad Street where services will be a 1:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
