TOWER CITY - Alma M. Buggy, 90, of Colliery Avenue, passed away Saturday morning at her home.
Born in Joliett, September 3, 1920, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Peck Miller.
Alma was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City where she was a former member of the Womens Club and a former CCD teacher.
Alma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a devout Christian. She loved vacationing with her family at Sanibel Island, FL where she enjoyed collecting seashells.
She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, John "Jack", 2008; her daughter, Karen Leiter, 1980; great grandson, Michael Leiter II, 2006, three sisters, Beryl Bashore, Carol "Billy" Davis and Marjorie Williams.
She is survived by her three beloved grandchildren, Jacqueline Harner and her husband, Randy; Michael Leiter and his wife, Christy and Timothy Leiter and his wife, Natalie, all of Tower City; six great grandchildren, Alexis Whitcomb, Timothy Harner, Brian, T.J., Brianna and Alayna Leiter; one great great grandson, Bennett Whitcomb.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 17th at 10:00 am from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City with Rev. Paul Rothermel as celebrant. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Please omit flowers, donations in Alma's memory should be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 1 Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, PA 17901 or St. Judes, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. has charge of arrangements.
