He was born in Vicksburg MS, a resident of Baton Rouge for 60 years, a veteran of the United States Marines, and a retired welder with Local 198. He also served with the Baton Rouge Police for 7 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church for over 50 years and a Jaycee serving on the Greater Baton Rouge State Board.
He was a beloved husband, Dad and Paw Paw. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy; 2 daughters, Kathryn Bankston Smith and Cindy Salbador, their husbands, Lynne Smith and Elwood (Sal) Salbador; 3 grandchildren, Eric and wife Denice Bankston, Summer Bankston Porter and husband Gregg, and Sophie Salbador; 2 great-grandchildren, Bella and Alexander Bankston; 4 sisters, Margaret Broussard, Sammie and husband, Fred Anderson, Bobbie and husband, Ronnie Rube, Judy and husband, Michael Simms; and 1 brother, Edward and wife, Melissa Middleton; and best friend, Norma Hawkins.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Eleanor and Charles F. Middleton, Sr.; his sister, Nadine O'Neal; and beloved best friend of over 60 years, Thad Hawkins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume Monday, November 14, 2016, from 11:00 AM until Services at 12:00 PM. Service will be officiated by Billy Burton. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
