Edith A. Middleton, born January 2, 1921 in Many, La., a resident of Williamsburg Senior Living Community in Baton Rouge, passed away Sunday December 30, 2012 at the age of 91. Mrs. Middleton was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, LaMousse Gardeners, Tri Psi, Alpha Chi Omega, Volunteers of America (VOA), Exxon Annuitants, United Methodist Women, the Ed McDonald Sunday School Class and countless school support organizations as her children were growing up. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 5pm until 7pm. Visiting on Thursday will be held at the Broadmoor United Methodist Church from 10am until funeral services at 11am officiated by Rev. Ken Carroll. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by son, Bill Middleton, Boise, ID, daughters, Ann Middleton, Baton Rouge and Janet Middleton Wallace and husband David G. Wallace of Boise, ID., granddaughter Jennifer Savoie and husband Matt Savoie of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, eight great grandchildren, and her sister, Bobbie Lee Kratz of Many. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Middleton after 59 years of marriage, parents John Malcolm and Martha Crews Abington, and sisters Helen Bergin and Mary Agnes Byrd. Edith loved people, loved life, loved laughing and most of all, loved her family. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Hospice of Baton Rouge for making her final hours so peaceful, Dr. Hector Mena for his expert care and to her wonderful caregivers whom she loved, Alvera Washington, Juanita Johnson, Gladys Smith and Yolanda Green. The family also appreciates the great staff and friends that enriched her life at Williamsburg.
