Middleton – Joan E. Beier, age 70, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001. She was born on Oct 2, 1931, in Waukegan, Ill., the daughter of Homer and Maire (Richards) Middleton. Joan married Kenneth Beier on Sept. 11, 1947. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she is survived by four children, Steve Beier of Madison, Craig (Jeri) Beier of the state of Oregon, SueAnn Winters of Alaska, and Stacy (Jim) Lund of Middleton; three granddaughters, McKenzie Lund, Sydnie Lund and Nicole Beier; a sister, June Longfield of Middleton; and a brother, Tom Middleton of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 S. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Shriners Children's Hospital, care of Zor Shrine Temple, 575 Zor Shrine Place, Madison, WI 53719.
