Mrs. William Cain, Pioneer
of Village, Succumbs to
Long Illness.

Plainfield, Dec. 15.--Mrs. William Cain, a very well-known woman of Plainfield, died at her home on Lockport street, at 6 o'clock this morning, after an illness which extends over the past ten years. Her more serious illness had been since about July 1.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist church and had been living in Plainfield since about the time of the Civil war. She was born in Centre county, Pennsylvania. One child, Mrs. John Clyne, of Joliet, and two step-children, Mrs. Roxie Clark of Chicago and Clark Cain of Wyoming, remain, beside the husband, Justice William Cain. The funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.

Funeral of Mrs. Wm. Cain
This afternoon the funeral of Mrs. William Cain occurred at her late home on Lockport street, Rev. Thomas E. Ream, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Interment was in the Plainfield cemetery. The deceased who was the wife of Justice William Cain died at her home Monday morning after an illness of several months.
The pall bearers at the funeral were mostly members of the local G. A. R. They were George McClester, Samuel Spangler, Peter Spangler, Fred Pilcher, Frank Collins and George Daily.
