Nora Brown, 79, of Ridge Road, died on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at her home. Born in Harlem, Kentucky on August 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Lynch and Leatha King Lynch. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, loved to do quilting and took painting classes. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Brown in 2000.
She is survived by two sons, Paul R. (Carolyn) Brown of Mocksville, and Curtis C. (Terrie) Brown of Salisbury; one brother, Bud Lynch, of Kentucky, four sisters, Bessie Wojcik, of Maryland, and Roberta, Mattie, and Evelyn, all of Kentucky; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Michael Ray Brown and a brother, Maynard Lynch.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church on Davie Academy Road, with Rev. Bobby Henderson and Rev. Perry Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 19 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Davie Funeral Service.
