She was born on Sept. 23, 1940, in Virginia and was a daughter of the late Grandville and Lena Virginia Delawder Lonas.
Mrs. Lucas was a member of the Leake's Chapel Church of the Brethren and was a waitress for many years, having worked at the Hawksbill Diner, Jordan Hollow Inn and Big Meadows.
On Aug. 19, 1958, she married Alfred Delane Lucas, who died on Nov. 5, 1997.
She is survived by a son Alfred Delane Lucas Jr. of Stanley, a daughter, Teresa Ann Lucas Runyon of Rileyville; six sisters, Mary Strawderman of Timberville, Rosie Cubbage of Stanley, Susie Combs of Toms Brook, Geraldine Lonas of Basye and Virginia Cubbage and Nancy Smelser both of Luray; three brothers, Ralph Lonas of Orkney Springs, Hope Lonas of Mount Jackson and Johnny Lonas of Stanley and four Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dwayne Lonas.
Burial was in the Leake's Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.
