He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Reba Hayes Long of Amelia; one daughter, Mrs. Doris Robertson of Groseclose; four sons, John E. Long, Jr. of Marion, James E. Long of Belton, Tex., R. C. Long of Abingdon and Kenneth Ray Long Sr. of Richmond; two step-sons John Price and David Price, both of Richmond; his mother, Mrs. Opal Long of Marion; two brothers, Otis Long and Jay Long, both of Marion; one sister, Betty Phelps of Marion; eight grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Bobby Blevins and Rev. John Pritchard officiating. Burial followed in Azen Cemetery, Konnarock, where complete military rites were held by VFW Post No. 4667.
Seaver-Brown Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
