She was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Troutville, Henderson Township, to John R. and Vada H. (Kuntz) London.
Catherine married John "Jack" H. Bailey on March 14, 1959, he survives in Sykesville. She is also survived by two children, Linda (Ron) Mowrey of Sykesville and John (Sheri) Bailey of Woodbridge, Va. She had four grandchildren: Brian (Missy) Mowrey, Scott (Nancy) Mowrey, Missi (Doug) Hess, and Samantha Bailey. She had six great-grandchildren: Hannah and Adam Mowrey, Jake and Jenna Mowrey, and Roni and Denton Hess. She is survived by one sister, JoAnn (William) Lucas of DuBois.
Catherine was a graduate of Sykesville High School, class of 1955. She attended Bethel Baptist Church in Sykesville. She loved music and was the Choir director at Bethel Baptist Church for many years.
She had worked at Reiter's Market in Sykesville for many years and was the co-owner of Bailey's Motorcycle Shop.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Sones and Betty Bailey; and one brother, Wilmer London.
At her request there will be no viewing or services.
Burial took place in Sykesville Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home of Sykesville.
