EAST GALESBURG - Everett Lindsey, 81, died at 3:03 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013. He passed away at his home.
Everett was born May 11, 1931, in Barren County, Ky. He was the son of John W. and Louise Oller Lindsey. He married Nancy Decker on April 13, 1963, at the Methodist Church in Kewanee.
He is survived by two sons, Michael (Sheri) Lindsey of Geneseo and Steven (Susan) Lindsey of Knoxville, to whom he was totally devoted. Also surviving are one sister, Barbara Talbot of Kewanee; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; two nephews and three nieces. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and one half brother.
He retired from John Deere in Moline and was a member of the UAW Local 474. He worked doing commercial and residential building maintenance for over 10 years. He was also an avid gardener and craftsman.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home Fellowship Center in Knoxville.
