Born in Cleveland County on July 24, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Phylector Madison and Azalea Lisbon Thompson Lattimore.
Glennie was a member of First Baptist Church in Shelby. Glennie was an assistant Clerk of Court for Catawba County for many years. In addition to her parents, Glennie is preceded in death by her husbands, Matthew Simmons and Marshall Blanton; seven brothers and sisters.
Glennie is survived by three sons, George Simmons and wife Susan of Blacksburg, Va., Ken Simmons and wife Lecia of Catawba, and Michael Simmons and wife Jeanne of Denver; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church Webb Chapel with Rev. Tony Tench officiating.
Burial will follow at Zion Baptist Church.
