A Magnanimous Woman
Mrs. Laura Kerr Axtell left her large estate to benefit many. Included were a bequest of $50,000 to Case School of Applied Sciences, already generously endowed by her family; $5,000 to Lake Erie Seminary, frequently remembered by her; Trinity Church Home $3,000; $1,000 to the M. E. Church of this place in memory of her father's faith. The entire estate amounts to over $300,000 and Mrs. S. K. Gray, of this place, and Mr. Eckstein Case, of Cleveland, ae appointed executors.

The Axtell Scholarship
The trustees of Case School of Applied Science have granted a scholarship, giving free tuition in Case School to Lake County. This scholarship is to be called the "Axtell Scholarship" in memory of Mrs. Laura Kerr Axtell who was a generous donor to the school.
It will be assigned by competitive examination early in September each year and open to candidates from Lake County.
Details concerning this examination can be obtained by anyone interested by addressing President Cady Staley.
