Judith “Judy” Patricia Ballard, 75, passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 22, 2017 in Kennewick, WA. Judy was born on April 29, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA to Thomas Patrick and Margaret (Foley) Kelleher.

Born into a large Irish Catholic family whose grandparents emigrated from County Cork, Ireland, through Ellis Island and settled in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Catholic schools and graduated in 1959 from St. Canice High School in Pittsburgh, PA.

Throughout her life, Judy lived life to the fullest. She traveled, ran her own business, waitressed, farmed and bred West Highland Terriers.

Judy had her sorrows as she had three sons precede her in death. But she also had her joys, her marriage to her husband & best friend John Ballard, with whom she shared nearly 37 years of adventure & love. She loved her family and loved them well. We will take with us the teachings, love, lessons and wisdom she gave to us.

Judy was a loving, honest, hardworking woman who always gave and thought of others before herself. She was always a lady, in actions and heart. She had the gentlest and kindest of hearts; a woman who is surely in the arms of her Lord, whom she loved above all.

Judy’s last request was “no tears”; just good memories. So let us go on with those “good memories” and treasure them always. A woman who was one of the most beautiful of God’s creations, we love you and will miss you deeply. Thank you for all you have given us. –Your family

Judy is survived by her husband of 37 years, John Earnest Ballard of Yakima, WA; daughters Patricia Ann Short (Pirring) Pamela Bailey, Lori Bailey, Sherry Ballard and Jemima Hall; sons Daniel Ballard, Phillip Ballard; sister Peggy Wisniewski; brothers Tom Kelleher (Tommy), James Kelleher (Jimmy), and William Kelleher (Bill). She also is survived by numerous beloved grandchildren: Christine, Manny, Ben, Johnny, Beth, Amber, Sarah, Levi, Caleb, Tiffany, Johnny, Hannah, Emily, Benjamin, Mariso and Brenda; as well as numerous beloved great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including Dennis and Kay Martenin.

Judy is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Kelleher (Foley), and her father, Thomas Patrick Kelleher of Pittsburgh, PA; sons William Pirring (Billy), John Gordon Wade and Michael Flanders Wade (Mike); her granddaughter Danielle Michelle Canchola; sisters Joan DiBalba and Ann Nerone (Tootsie); and brother John Robert Kelleher (Jackie).

A celebration of her life service will be held at 3 pm, Sunday, February 26, 2107 at Rainier Memorial Center. To share a memory of Judy, please visit www.keithandkeith.com.
