He was born August 27, 1959 in Blue Island, Illinois the son of Gene and Marie (Latko) Karczewski.
Jim was a graduate of St. Peter Grade School and Geneva High School. He was a proud Eagle Scout and had a passion for fishing. Jim had a dry sense of humor and was always there to make you laugh in any situation. Even though he never had any children of his own, you would often find him playing on the floor or watching cartoons with his nieces and nephew. His love for them was immeasurable. Jim also had a love for the hobby of trains, rekindled in his recent retirement.
Jim is survived by his parents Gene and Marie of Rockton, formerly of Geneva; sisters Terry Ingold (Peter Einwich) of Cortland and Chris (Dave) Tweed of Manitowoc, WI; brother Ron (Carmen Johnson) of Rockton; nieces Whitney (Tony) Spillman of Batavia and Katie of Rockton; and nephew Jake Dunaway of Rockton.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents; several aunts and uncles; and his brother in law Michael Ingold.
Jim will also be deeply missed by his dear friends Ray, Karen, and Paul Johnson of St. Charles and Denise and Steve Dusanek of St. Charles.
