Brooklet - Sallie Roberta Evans Jones, 92, died Thursday morning at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, S.C., after a long illness. The Wheeler County native had lived in Bulloch County most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Brooklet United Methodist Church where she was a member of the UMW and was also a member of the Brooklet Garden Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara J. Bailey, Beaufort, S.C.; one son, C.J. "Joe" Jones, Hilton Head, S.C.; three sisters, Lorene Anderson, Glenwood, Oveda Lewis, Lakeland, Fla., and Geraldine Taylor, Plant City, Fla.; two brothers, Wedrell Evans, Macon, and Olin Evans, Plant City, Fla.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Hodges-Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Williams officiating. Burial will be in Brooklet City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
