ROCKY FORD, Ga. - Mr. Johnny Lee Jones Sr., age 80, passed on Friday, February 5, 2010, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The native of Bulloch County was a member of the Portal Church of God. Mr. Jones was the owner and operator of Jones Construction Company. His skills were used by many throughout the surrounding counties.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Samuel Lee and Ollie Mae Lee Jones; an eldest son, Clifton Edward Jones; a sister, Ella Mae Moody; brothers, George Willie, Charlie and Samuel Jones Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Lou Jones, Rocky Ford, Ga; two sons, William Henry "Shaw" Jones, Statesboro, Ga., and Johnny Lee (Debra) Jones Jr., Tucker, Ga.; a daughter, Modestine Juanita Jones (Tony) Harden, Statesboro, Ga.; three brothers, Pastor Roosevelt "Flash" (Retha) Jones, the Rev. Lonnie (Betty) Jones and Dea. Gatrell (Udell) Jones, all of Portal, Ga.; four sisters, Earnestine (Walter) Smith, Portal, Ga., Sherbie Jean Culbreath, Twin City, Ga., Darlene Jones and Cynthia Jones, both of Statesboro, Ga.; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Johnny Lee Jones will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Portal Church of God with the Rev. Roosevelt Jones officiating. Burial will be held in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
