Christina M. Jones the daughter of John M. and Lena Adell (Coles) Dillon was born October 5, 1909 on a farm 2 miles east of Nora, Nebraska in Nuckolls County. She departed this life on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the St. John's Care Center in Kearney, Nebraska at the age 99 years.
Christina grew up in the Nora/Nelson communities graduating from Nelson High School in 1930. On March 23, 1938 Christina was united in marriage to Elmer Jones at Hebron, Nebraska. This union was blessed with the birth of two children one son and one daughter. Christina was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother.
She dearly enjoyed working at home and helping her husband Elmer with their farming.
Christina was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Nora, NE until it closed then transferred her membership to Superior. In her younger years Christina was very active with the 4-H and attended a week long seminar in Chicago.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer; brothers: Otto, Lloyd, Charles, and sister Roma Shaw.
Survivors include her son Lonnie Jones of Kearney, NE; daughter Karen LaRock of Sparta, WI; sister Nelda Minert of Albany, IN; brother Orin Dillon of Edgar, NE other relatives and her many friends.
Funeral services will be held this Friday 10:00 AM, February 20, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Superior. Rev. Dorthea Fairbanks will be officiating.
Burial will be held in the Nora Cemetery. Williams Funeral Home of Superior is in charge of the arrangements.
