Mrs. Willie Ruth Howard, age 84, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, December 23, 2007, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She was a Screven County native and a member of Skull Creek Baptist Church in Millen, Ga., where she served as the president of the youth department and years later as the mother of the church.

She leaves to cherish fond memories to: a loving husband, Mr. Enoch Howard of Statesboro, Ga.; six daughters: Barbara Howard–Brinson of Statesboro, Ga., Annie Mae Foreman of Atlanta, Ga., Mary J. (Dennis) Brewton of Manassas, Ga., Florine Brantley and Lessie Mae Lovett both of Savannah, Ga., Ruennette (Kensley) Lewis of Statesboro, Ga.; two sons: William (Vernita) Howard of Goldsboro, N.C., and Kenneth Howard of Statesboro, Ga.; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28 at noon at the Original First African Baptist Church on Institute Street in Statesboro, Ga. Bishop Matthew M. Odum Sr. eulogist. Interment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens on Hwy 80 East in Statesboro, Ga.
