Ms. Sandra M. "San" Harper was born November 30, 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Herbert and Ruby Houston. Sandra grew up in Pontiac, and attended Pontiac Public Schools. She attended Oakland Community College, and received a certification in counseling. Sandra had several careers: bookseller for Barnes and Nobles (There she met many famous authors), a certified substance abuse counselor, and most recently a caregiver. Sandra loved to read books and would pass them on to others. She liked to watch scary movies and cook. Her most favorite dish was "Gumbo." Sandra especially enjoyed her birds, Sunny and Chi Chi. She got the most pleasure out of spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends. Her children meant the world to her. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and the love she had for her great-grandchildren no words can describe.

Ms. Harper leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Teri (Terrence) Carson of Pleasant Ridge, MI; Emily "Shawn" Harper of Pontiac, MI; sons, Michael Harper, Phillip "Lamar" Harper and Donovan "Donnie" Harper both of Pontiac, MI; twenty-one grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert (Debbie) Houston, Jr. of Oakland, CA; a host of nieces; nephews; sisters-in-law, Shellie Houston and Williette Munson of Pontiac, MI, Melinda Peterman of Detroit, MI; brother-in-law, Robert Hatcher of Detroit, MI; and a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Anthony Gary; grand-dogs, Coco and Lyla.

Ms. Harper was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Adolphus "Poppa" Houston; father of her children, Gary Traylor; and sister-in-law, Phyllis
