Lena Frances Hodge Brooks, 94, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Heritage Hall Health Care. She was born in Giles County, February 24, 1917, to the late William Henry and Bertie Mae Sartin Hodge. She moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in 1977 to be with family and stayed until 2001, before returning to Montgomery County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold D. Brooks; two infant children; and a son, Jim D. Brooks. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard D. and Louisa Brooks, of Blacksburg; two daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Ann and Bryant Brown, of Alpine, Wyo., and Patty Jo Hinkley, of Elliston; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and John Sweeney, of Christiansburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Arnold "Tooter" and Dorothy Hodge, of Blacksburg; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Terry Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday February 1, 2012, prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
