Services for Carnez Hill, 77, of Slaton will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cleve Kerby officiating.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

She died Tuesday, July 31, 2001.

She was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Chickasha, Okla., and had attended schools in Liberty, Acuff, Canyon and Abernathy. She graduated from New Deal High School in 1942 and attended Draughon's Business School. She married Glenvaion Hill on April 27, 1946, in Lubbock. He died Jan. 16, 1992.

She had been a resident of Slaton since 1946. She had worked at Reese Air Force Base and was bookkeeper for Hill's Welding until her retirement in 1987. She did volunteer work for Methodist/Covenant Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of Slaton's Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post No. 438 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2721.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Buxkemper of Lubbock and Janice Slemmons of Kingsland; a brother, Darrell Burress of Abernathy; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
