Jennie L. Hartshorne
Jennie L. Hartshorne, daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Jewett Hartshorne, formerly of Rocky Hill, died early this morning.
Miss Hartshorne was born in Hammonton N.J., on April 18, 1879. The family moved to Rocky Hill* shortly after.
She lived all of her life in Rocky Hill, and was a member of the Goshen Baptist Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Harry J. Hartshorne of Malvern, and Frank C. Hartshorne of Goshen Heights; and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Speakman of Philadelphia; Mrs. Mildred McDaniel of Wilmington and Mrs. Nellie McFall of North Wales.
HARTSHORNE- On Monday, July 3, 1967, Jennie L., daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Jewett Hartshorne, in her 89th year.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service from the funeral home of Joseph E. Boyd, 101 S. Church St., West Chester, Pa., on Thursday, July 6, at 2 p.m. Interment Green Mount Cemetery. Friends may call after 12 noon Thursday.
*Note: Rocky Hill was a post office that failed to survive, but the section four miles east of West Chester is still referred to as Cloud, though its original and present name is Rocky Hill. Originally named because of the high rocky ground the farming community was located.
