Hazel H. Hart Beelke, died at 6:45 AM Sunday, Jan. 30, 1977, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been hospitalized since Saturday, following being ill since August 1976. Born at Norwood, NY, she was a graduate of St. Lawrence University, receiving her master's degree in psychology. She was married in 1944 at Colorado Springs, CO, to Ralph G. Beelke, a professor of creative arts at Purdue University.

Mrs. Beelke had lived in West Lafayette the past 14 years, coming here from Washington, DC. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She was very active in civic affairs, both in Lafayette and West Lafayette, and was a former member of the YMCA and Greater Lafayette Community Center.

Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Christine (Mrs. Charles) Brez of Marshalltown, IA; two sons, John Beelke and Alan Beelke, both of West Lafayette; a brother, Dean Hart of Potsdam, NY; a sister, Mrs. Winifred Worden of Norwood, NY; and one grandchild.
