Piqua Daily Call - August 1, 1947
FARMER, HIT IN HEAD BY BOLT, DIES IN HOSPITAL
Marvin Elwin Hart, 23, farmer, Peterson Pike, Lost Creek Township, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Piqua Memorial hospital, the result of head injuries received early the same morning at his farm when he was hit in the face by a tractor bolt. While driving the tractor, a loosened bolt struck his face with such force as to throw him from the vehicle and inflict such a deep laceration around the
left eye that the eye and part of the brain tissue protruded. Hart died without regaining consciousness. He was admitted to the hospital at 6:40 a.m. Born in
Piqua December 14, 1923, he was the son of Harry L. and Harriet Snyder Hart. He attended the Staunton township school and was a member of the Church of the Brethren. His marriage to Betty Naomi Reaver took place September 18, 1942.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; two children, Lowell Michael, 3, and Kathryn Kay, 2, at home; his parents, who reside in Piqua, a brother, Edwin Hart of Covington, route 2, and a sister Mrs. Donald Minton of Piqua. Services will be conducted Monday a 1:30 p.m. at the Finfrock funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Dean Frantz of Pleasant Hill will officiate in
the absence of the Rev. Roy Honeyman. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.
Friends may call at the Finfrock funeral home Sunday and Monday.
