Marguerite (Mam) Harned Allen, 99, of Rineyville, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at North Hardin Signature Healthcare in Radcliff. She was a member of Rineyville Baptist Church and loved her church family. She is remembered there and throughout the community for her gifts of food, especially homemade rolls, known as "Mam's rolls." Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Layman Allen; her parents, Clarence and Elsie Harned of Elizabethtown; a sister, Louise Ashcraft of Elizabethtown; and a brother, Chester Harned who was killed in WWII. She is survived by her two children, Herman "Jr." (Betty) Allen of Hodgenville and Ralph (Sandy) Allen of Louisville; four grandchildren, Tim (Maryellen) Allen, Meg Allen Deshpande, Cindy (Tim) Ford and Troy (Debra) Allen; 10 great-grandchildren, Catherine, Maggie, Rohan, Mick, Leela, Kevin (Sarah), Josh, Emily, Ryan and Courtney; one great-great-grandson, Kooper. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Wendell Smith officiating. Burial follows at Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and continues after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Rineyville Baptist Church.
