A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Biloxi, Miss., she died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011. She was 80 years old. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Oct. 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Alice is survived by her husband, Carl Hancock, of 56 years; son, Lee Hancock and wife Pam; two brothers, Clarence and Richard E. Williams; and grandson, Spencer Hancock. She was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Evelyn Gollette Williams; two sisters and four brothers. Alice was a member of First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge for 47 years where she was the nursery coordinator and a member of CPR Sunday School class. She was a volunteer with more than 1,000 hours of service at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet and a substitute teacher for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, 529 Convention St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
