Althea H. Philson, 72, Meyersdale, died Oct. 13, 1984, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born May 5, 1912, daughter of Harry and Lebena (Brown) Habel. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel, and sister, Emma Frances Mankamyer. Survived by one son, Robert, Meyersdale RD 3; daughters: Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Kopf, Sarasota, Fla.; and Mrs. Richard (Rebecca) Diak, Fort Mill, S.C.; three grandchildren; and one brother, William H. Habel Jr., Lancaster, Pa. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale, and the Senior Women's Club; director of the Meyersdale Public Library, director of the Union Cemetery, and former member of the Maple Festival Committee. She was a graduate of Hood College. Friends will be received at the Leckemby Funeral Home Monday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Lloyd Wilson officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Meyersdale Public Library. Somerset Daily American, October 15, 1984
