Mrs. Anna A. Gustafson
Mrs. Anna Gustafson, 12515 Maple Ave., died Thursday afternoon, Jan. 4 in Boxholm, Ia., following a brief illness.
Mrs. Gustafson was born in Dayton, Ia., June 10, 1871, the daughter of Adolph and Stina Anderson, and came to the Blue Island community where she resided since 1922. For the past six months she had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Delia Peterson at whose home she passed away.
Mrs. Gustafson was the wife of J. Emil Gustafson, mother of Mrs. Delia Peterson of Boxholm, Ia.; Mrs. Ruth Melin, Mrs. Hilma Winterfeldt, Miss Elsie Gustafson, John, Arthur, the late Helen, Nels and Roy; grandmother of six; great grandmother of two.
The remains arrived in Blue Island Saturday evening and were at rest in the funeral home, 2601 Vermont St., from Sunday afternoon until 11 a.m. Monday, at which time removal was made to the Mission Covenant Church, Cochran St., and Greenwood Ave., there to lay in state until the hour of the funeral which was held at 2 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Donald Sands officiating.
Interment was made in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery."
