Reverend Harold Lee Guinn, 90, of Folkston, GA, went home to his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on November 20, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his children.

He was born September 1, 1924 in Homeland, GA to the late Grover H. Guinn and Lola Lloyd Guinn. He enrolled in CCC Company 1413 Homerville April 7, 1939. He faithfully served in the United States Army in the Horse Drawn Field Artillery at Ft. Still, OK. After being honorably discharged, he reenlisted in the US Army Air Corp and served at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA during WWII.

He was ordained as a Baptist Minister May 1, 1951 at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church. He was the pastor for a number of Baptist Churches in the area including Calvary Baptist in Homeland, GA, Winokur Baptist in Winokur, GA, Pineview Baptist in Waresboro, GA, Sweat Memorial in Waycross, GA, Grace Chapel in Folkston, GA and Camp Pinckney Baptist in Folkston, GA.

He was a dedicated Christian man who shared his faith throughout his entire life. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather who influenced his family by his loving support and his gentle nature. He was very humble and tender hearted and known by many as a “sweet” man who kept his joy filled spirit to the very end of his life. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him especially those left to carry on his legacy of love.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 68 years: Lois E. Guinn; 1-Daughter: Glenda Faye Guinn; 3-Brothers: Lonnie, James, and Alton Guinn and 3-Sisters: Lena Thacker, Winnie Lloyd, and Evelyn Spence.

He is survived by his Children: Harold G. Guinn, Sr., Ronald L. (Iris) Guinn, Sr., Larry A. (Cleone) Guinn, Sr., and Bonnie Y. Guinn; a Brother: Clyde Guinn; 16-Grandchildren, 29-Great Grandchildren and 1-Great Great Grandchild.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 23 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 3-6 PM. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 24 at 11:00 AM with Dr. Robert Huling officiating. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Larry Guinn, Jr., Ronnie Guinn, Jr., Timothy Varnes, Kenneth Davis, Brian Varnes and Daniel Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Gary Guinn, Jr., Christopher Guinn and Russell Guinn.
