Jane Elizabeth Buckle, 95, of Sheridan died Sunday morning, March 5 at the Liberty Village Retirement Home in Princeton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 14 with Pastor Sally Chipman officiating at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home, Ltd in Sheridan. (815) 496-2993. Burial will be at the Elerding Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7pm. Monday, March 13 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Buckle was born October 31, 1910 in Buffalo, New York to Philip and Margaret (Palmer) Gillham. She was a graduate of Princeton High School and and Monmouth College. She married Arthur Buckle July 16, 1938 in Maywood California. She was a teacher at the Kewanee Wethersfield High School, Sheridan High School and Sheridan Grade School. She was a member of the Sheridan United Methodist Church, the Hope Circle of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Kappa Delta Sorority, the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority International, the Order of the Eastern Star and Friends of the Robert W. Rowe Library.
She was survived by her husband, Aurthur; her daughter, Beverly (Larry) Eden of Hennepin; her son, Howard Buckle of Sheridan; three grandchildren, Mark (Rebecca) Buckle of Orland Park, Traci Buckle of Pohoa Hawaii, Sarah (Lee) Friedman of Skokie; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Gillham of Princeton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Nancy Gillham-Hornbaker.
Pallbearers will be Dwight Arnerson, Verle Hallet, Jim Bristol, Mick Johnson, Kevin Thompson and Dale Bowen.
