CANDY CONCERN HAS EXPANSION
Evans George Company Moving Into Larger Business Quarters
Evans D. George, president of Evans George Company, Inc., announced Saturday that his business had been moved into new and larger quarters at 117 Hall Street in order to better serve the retailers of the Monroe trade area.

Mr. George, who founded the business in 1944, has had nearly 20 years' experience in the distributing of candy and allied items in northeast Louisiana. The combined experience of his employees in this field total for than 50 years.

Mr. George is immediately past president of the Southern Wholesale Confectioners Association and is currently serving as chairman of the board of that trade organization. He is one of the organizers and a member of the board of directors of the National Candy Wholesalers Association, Inc., which is said by the department of commerce to have had the most rapid growth of any similar group in trade association history. Locally he is active in civic work and is presently serving as general chairman of the Lions Club Junior Sugar Bowl committee sponsoring the Northeast Junior College vs. Hillsboro (Texas) Junior College game to be played Friday night, December 12, 1947.
