Herman H. Fruehan, Sr., 78, retired chief clerk of the auditing department of the Glen Alden Coal Co., died yesterday in Medical Center East. Mr. Fruehan retired from the coal company in 1954. Son of the late George and Louise Brall[sic] Fruehan, he was a member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, Schiller Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons and Washington Camp, Patriotic Order, Sons of America. He and his wife, the former Anna C. Brown, observed their 54th wedding anniversary on Jan. 15. Surviving are his wife; a son, Herman Jr., Cleveland, Ohio; a sister Mrs. Ethel Hartman, this city and five grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 11 A. M. from the Strauch Funeral Home, 602 Birch St. The Rev. William H. Maurer, Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Abingoton Hills Cemetery, Chinchilla. Friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 and thereafter from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P. M.
