After a long battle with cancer, Denise Ranee Fraise, 53, of West Burlington, died at Great River Hospice House on Tuesday evening, May 22, 2012.

Born on January 24, 1959 in Ottumwa, Iowa, she was the daughter of Orval "Bud" Ash and Barbara Jean Kirby Ash. She married David Michael Fraise on March 25, 1981 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa.

Denise was a homemaker. She enjoyed collecting pictures of family members, caring for her pets and going to auctions. She loved shopping and traveling to consignment stores. She collected Boyd's Teddy Bears and M&M collectibles. She also enjoyed watching and following the Denver Broncos. She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by her husband, David; her mother, Barbara Jean Ash of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Todd Ash of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kevin (Mona) Ash of Burlington, Iowa; two sisters, Robin (Scott) Kennedy and Tina Chilton, both of Burlington, Iowa; her maternal grandmother, Ruby Paxton of Muscatine, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, "Bud" Ash, both grandfathers and paternal grandmother.

Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
